“Halloween is the day you knock on people’s doors and shout ‘Trick or treat’ and they give you candy,” said six-year-old Shaska at a Halloween party on Friday afternoon in Kemang, South Jakarta.

Although Halloween is usually only celebrated in the West, it has grown in popularity in Indonesia, thanks in part to the prevalence of international television channels.

Faza, dressed up as a bumblebee, nagged his mother to take him to a Halloween party and asked Shaska to come along.

His bumblebee costume, however, won him second prize in the Best Costume contest. A Dracula impersonator won first prize while a girl dressed as Snow White, and who wouldn’t let go of her father, won third prize. A red devil, a green witch, Spiderman and Superman could not have cared less about the contest, caught up as they were in a game of hide-and-seek.

While driving, what's your biggest pet peeve?

I don't drive a car because I can't :) Anyway, if I could drive, my biggest pet peeve would be those crazy and annoying motorbikers and bus drivers in the street. They cause the traffic jam and they just don't give a damn about anything as they want to drive as fast they can without considering the rules and other people's safety. Those flocks of "bumble bees" x(

What misconception about the place you live bothers you the most?

What misconception? It's honestly quite hard to defend on Jakarta. Well, I love my city and there are many good things about that as it's one of the biggest city in the world and it's so metropolitan, but what people say about Jakarta are quite true:

Traffic Jam in Jakarta

They say: The traffic jam in Jakarta is really bad and frustrating. It's true.
They say: Jakarta is too huge and it's too far to get to some point from another point. It's true.
They say: Jakarta is prone of flood. It's very true.
They say: Jakarta is expensive. It's true - if you compared the city with other cities in Indonesia.

But anyway, I love you, Jakarta! My Mom had her last rest there. My friends are there. My favorite food are all over the place in the city. I really love you, regardlessly :)

By the way, the next time you come to Jakarta, it will be more crowded than before. More and more people coming to this Metropolitan city each year with a hope that they will have a better life...

The first picture is the picture of our President and Vice President, praying at Istiqlal Mosque which was claimed as the biggest mosque in South East Asia.

People brought their own mats in the second picture. They were praying in front of the mosque. And beggars were waiting at the gates of the mosque.
