How are you celebrating the 4th of July?

I don't celebrate as I'm not American :) But my friend Bertha is having her birthday today. She's Indonesian, but has been living in Atlanta for many years. I sent her an e-card yesterday.

Cheese Chanai & Banana-Cheese Naan

Out of boredom, last night I went to "Aneka Bubur" in Radio Dalam with my friend Reza and we ordered these dishes that we couldn't even eat half of it... Then, about an hour later Danny and Iwan joined us there for a while before we went to Danny's and had some beer there.

It's the first time I visited his house and met his cute Shih-Tzus: Heaven and Chicco. Unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures as my camera's battery was flat :\ We left Danny's at 01:30. Ella, Siti and a couple friends of Ella were at Mana Lounge. I was invited, but it was already too late.

My tummy feels funny now. Anyway, in a couple of hours I am going to Church with Ella. Remember that it's Easter Sunday? So...

Saint Patrick's Day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland, and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Montserrat, and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the rest of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.

But not in Indonesia. There are only 2 clubs in town today that throw St. Paddy's Day parties, and my friend and I actually have planned to celebrate it, but since he will be still out of town until tomorrow, we won't celebrate it this year. Hopefully there will be a next year :) Anyhow, he still wants to go to an Irish pub when he comes back to Jakarta, even though it's not St. Paddy's Day anymore. Maybe we will try Flanagan's.

I have celebrated St. Paddy's Day once only in my life. It was in Singapore, with my friend Nina and her Irish friends, back in 1998. I didn't like the black beer, but I LOVE the food, especially the fresh oysters. HEAVEN!

Anyway, in the spirit of Saint Patrick, the patron saints of Ireland, I sent my American friends an e-card, and I got a reply from two of them :)

Ella & Moi

It's Ella's Birthday yesterday, but unfortunately I couldn't meet her because I am having few things that I need to take care of personally at home. Anyway dear, thank you for being a great friend of mine! You're there on the phone when I needed someone to pray for me. And you came over to my place immediately with Andri. It's just few months back. On evening in December 2007. Remember?

Sorry that I also still haven't been able to get you a birthday gift due to my current situation. I only can send you my prayers and hopes that it's gonna be a better year for you. Older age, but better life in every ways.
