It's a happy day! Well, a happy moment, I should say! No, I haven't had my money back. I was waiting for "Mr. Red Wine" from morning until 05:00 pm and finally he said he couldn't make it, and he postponed it until tomorrow morning. I hope he will make it this time. I'm crossing my fingers and my toes!
So, it's a happy moment when I met Kiki! She's my best friend in high school and we sat together in the same class for 2 years! She still looks the same, still very cute, very smart (she has a Master degree and she plans to take her Ph.D in Holland soon), and she's still a sweetie! The only change is that now her body is twice bigger than mine LOL She has one daughter named Nina, 9 year-old. Her father was my lecturer when I was in the uni, so it's pretty confusing when we met outside because I called him "Bapak" ("Sir") in class, and "Oom" ("Uncle", Dutch) when we met out of class, as he's my friend's father (yes, Indonesians "unclize" and "auntize" their friends' parents). Kiki and I were the teachers' pets in school because we're smart and almost cute :D
She arrived at American Hamburger in Bintaro Plaza just few minutes before I got there, because I shopped for some toiletries first downstairs. I called her name very loudly, well, I screamed actually, when I saw her sitting there, looking at the menu :D And you know what, we both were wearing batik - just like most people we met at the mall! Indonesian pride!
Can you see my li'l Cest Moi on my lap?
We chatted about everything, catching up each other's stories during the absence. She keeps in touch with our friends more than I do, so she has so many stories and gossips to tell about them. Hehe. We had lunch together there, just plain fried chicken with rice (me) and French fries (her).
Then we had some window-shopping. Actually, it's me who did the window-shopping because Kiki bought a black dress, a wooden ethnic necklace at a factory outlet for herself, and a pair of shorts for Nina. I took some pictures of a nearby amusement center when she did her shopping. I've been to the mall very often as it's the closest to my place, but I'd never had a chance to take picture there.
And these are my favorite shots taken in "Fun World".
That's how a colorful dream should be, I think.
We spent time together for about 4 hours, then we left. She's going to attend a wedding tonight, and I though I'd go to the bank with Mr. Red Wine - and I was so disappointed that he didn't make it...
I'm looking forward to meet Kiki again and her parents next time. I talked to her mother on the phone when we were at the mall, and she sounded very happy :) The last time I met Kiki's parents was in 1994 in Singapore, and the last time I met Kiki was like 15 years ago! Time flies, but good friends are precious to keep :)
Hope your Friday is and/or will be good.
When I went to flea market in the neighborhood (walking distant, 5 minutes only from my place) at 08:00 with Dad and Miskiyah, they were just getting ready to start the business. Dad got bored the minute we got there, so Miskiyah sent him home first. Most things that were sold there were clothings (batik, mostly) and food.
When I walked alone, I saw a familiar face. It was Lita - my long lost friend! We went to the same high school and she was in the same class with me. It's been like 20 years since the last time we meet. Whoa! She was selling batik there with her husband and found out that she's my neighbor! Just a block away! It's a small world after all! She said she were thinking of me recently and wondering where I was. A couple of weeks ago, she attended a friend's wedding at the Cathedral and the piano player looked exactly like me, so she thought it was me :D I bought a batik dress and a batik tank-top from her.
When I was at Lita's stall, suddenly a pretty girl grabbed my waist. I was shocked! It's Chloe, and she came together with her mother (Agek), Jethro and their maid (Nia). Jethro didn't want anything, but playing at the playground :D
While Jethro was playing there - accompanied by Nia - Agek, Chloe and I had our little breakfast. Chloe and I had "bihun bakso" (rice noodle with meat balls) and Agek had "siomay Bandung". We had young coconut ice as our drink. It's refreshing!
Then suddenly Ronald was there, too - when Chloe was having face painting. Jethro also wanted his cute face to get painted, but he got sad after that. He didn't like the little tiger he had on his little face :)
Before we went back home, we took more pictures at the lake next to the flea market. This is the picture of the happy family :) We've been friends for years, and we've been living in the same neighborhood for almost 2 years now.
I had a good Saturday morning. Now I'm going to get some rest before meeting Vivi and Ella later at Hard Rock. Happy hours! I will be home around 11 pm, so try not to miss me too much ;)
And this is Agek. A friend of mine that lives nearby. She wasn't my friend before she became my friend Maya's sister-in-law, because that's how we met :)
She will be more than happy to kill me if she knows I post this picture on-line. Hehe.
My in-land phone line has been broken since last night, and it's getting fixed now. The wireless internet is being slow, too - so I can't upload these pictures in their original size. Had to resize it up to 500px :(
I'm looking forward to get my soto mie later when Reza comes in the evening. Yay! More foodie!
As many times I said, I've been living in Bintaro for almost 2 years. But just today I went to a small restaurant here called "Papa's Kitchen". I actually wanted to go to "Blenger Burger" which is close to "Papa's Kitchen", but Reza gave me an option and since I'd never been to "Papa's Kitchen", so there we went to.
It's just next to a fitness club, so like Reza said, it's bad and unhealthy for the club members. I didn't order burger, but Cheese Cross Hotdog and man, it's extremely yummy! The barbecue sauce is so deliciously evil! Reza's Crazy Burger looked better, though. I had strawberry juice as my drink. Unfortunately, it's too sweet... And it doesn't look good on camera, too :)
After dinner, Reza wanted to surprise me by giving me a gift he got from his friend. A ¼ bottle of tequila. But I'm not a tequila drinker, besides it's a gift from his friend, so I didn't take it. Thanks anyway, Za!
My tummy is happy now and I think my eyes are jealous with it since they're unhappy because I force them to stay awake. Let me be a fair owner of my body parts by letting them all have some rest.
Yes. It's very possible that I'm still tipsy from the wine I had last night.
I saw this guy on my way to Alfa Supermarket this evening and I was happy that I brought my camera with me...
He has Balinese "wayang" face. His clothes are real. The plant in his pocket is also real :) I believe he's made by some artist that lives in that "kampung" area.
Creative, eh?
