I don't feel that holidays give me some extra works to do. Maybe because I don't throw parties and I don't invite people to come over for dinners :) Anyway, this is just an idea for you to help you survive during the holidays. Something I need for myself too if I can afford it the next time Miskiyah needs to go back to her hometown. Hehe.

It debuted in the recently-concluded China High Tech Fair. The robot in the photo above is actually another version designed as a waitress. This one works at the Robot Kitchen in Hongkong. At the demonstration at the high-tech fair, a demonstartor opened AIC’s door, which is shaped like a refrigerator’s door, and put into a box of seasoned ingredients. He closed the door and selected “Kung Pao Chicken,” a Sichuan dish with chicken cubes, peanuts and dried peppers, from the instrument panel. Four minutes later the dish was done and an attractive smell wafted out of the machine. Visitors tried the dish, many surprised by its vibrant taste. A vision of the future, perhaps? Liu’s company, Pansum Technology, is continuing to work on it, hoping to market it to restaurants first and to homes someday.

I buy Christmas gifts whenever I see something I like and I am sure that the recipient might like it, too. It doesn't have to be some time around the holiday season. Just anytime I find something unique and quite personal as I love personalized gifts myself.

The benefits: I get what I want and the recipients are (usually) happy with the gifts. I need not to be afraid that the stuff I want is out of stock.

The disadvantages: The price will be dropped around Christmas time - if the items I want are still on sale. And I might find something else after buying the stuff that I and the recipients like better.

Why do you make some purchases online and others in-store? What ultimately prompts you to go in-store?

I don't shop on-line because I have no credit card and my debit card isn't accepted at any international online shop. But if I could, I'd buy stuff online that are not available here in my country. I go shopping only when I need to buy the stuff anyway, because money is tight and I need to be careful in my spending :)
