The holidays are right around the corner, which means gift-giving (and buying) season is upon us. When do you usually purchase your gifts? What are the benefits/disadvantages of buying when you do?

I buy Christmas gifts whenever I see something I like and I am sure that the recipient might like it, too. It doesn't have to be some time around the holiday season. Just anytime I find something unique and quite personal as I love personalized gifts myself.

The benefits: I get what I want and the recipients are (usually) happy with the gifts. I need not to be afraid that the stuff I want is out of stock.

The disadvantages: The price will be dropped around Christmas time - if the items I want are still on sale. And I might find something else after buying the stuff that I and the recipients like better.

Me too, i also buy my gifts when i see them.

I buy throughout the year, whenever I see a good buy or something that is "so" the intended receiver. Decreases the mental and financial stress.
